MARILYN MANSON Working On New Video With JAMES CAMERON?
March 29, 2007French music site Charts In France reports that MARILYN MANSON is filming a new video, "When the Heart Guides the Hand", with James Cameron as the director. The clip is said to be using a 3D special effect so people can view it without the glasses. According to the site, "When the Heart Guides the Hand" is the first single from MANSON's new album, "Eat Me, Drink Me", which is tentatively due in June.
In other news, SuicideGirls.com reports that several Suicide Girls models appear in Marilyn Manson's new video/short film. The clip is said to be for a new Manson song and will apparently feature an appearance by Manson's rumored girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood, who drifts pristinely through a surreal concert scene filled with writhing, overtly sexual, scantily clad, and sometimes even demonic women. The video shoot was said to last fourteen hours and on set there was a shirt-optional policy as the main cut of the video will be released on DVD.
"Eat Me, Drink Me" — Manson's first disc since 2003's "The Golden Age Of Grotesque" — was co-produced by Manson and bassist/aide de camp Tim Skold, and was mixed by Sean Beavan, who has worked on several other Manson projects, including 1996's "Antichrist Superstar", and 1998's "Mechanical Animals". According to the frontman, "Eat Me, Drink Me" "takes a totally different approach musically." While some sources have likened his new sound to QUEEN, Manson will only say "It's better heard than described." Still, he reveals, "On this record I really wanted to sing, and that has to come from a naked, emotional place.
"It's not a record about me crying, or songs about my woes, but I think this record will probably speak to more people in different ways, because of its total human element."
